CRC recently road-tripped through the Pennsylvania wilderness to the beautiful Woodloch Resort and Spa in the scenic Poconos Mountains for the ultimate agency outing. We were eager to re-focus, disconnect from the busy day-to-day life and reconnect with our inner selves while taking advantage of all the outdoor adventures, creative workshops and wellness classes. Upon arrival, we were excited to escape the early April Winter (yes, it exists) and relax in the hot tub over the beautiful natural setting that felt a world away from New York City. While we are all indisputably addicted to the city, any New Yorker will tell you they cherish some quiet time away from it all from time to time.
Working in Public Relations is a 24/7 job and we automatically run on “PR mode” constantly searching for ways to connect what we see around us to our clients. This adventure together allowed us to re-ignite our creative thinking in a new environment, sharing opinions and insights with one another in a less formal setting that provided a great differentiation from our normal routines.
Our second day at the resort was all about relaxation, and there was certainly no shortage of it for CRC. We started the morning with a leisurely hike on the nature trail, discussing Elizabeth Banks’ new website WhoHaHa and the female comedians who we all admire.
From there we transitioned to a team building watercolor class, which showcased our personalities to the fullest. Different perspectives are always important in giving our team the advantage of approaching tasks big and small with a thorough eye, and watercoloring definitely showed us that we have the full spectrum. We learned so much about one another through our artistic abilities (or lack there of). As you can see, diverse personalities have completely different interpretations of the same direction.
At CRC, we pride ourselves on our close-knit culture, and this trip brought our team closer than ever. We returned feeling rejuvenated and refreshed as we were able to shift from our everyday routines. We are now ready to service our clients with a refreshed vigor and are looking forward to our next team outing adventure.
